Mission:

ANet pursues its vision of educational equity in America by helping schools boost student learning with great teaching that’s grounded in standards, informed by data, and built on the successful practices of educators around the country.

Vision:

ANet believes that every student deserves opportunity in life, and that educators who devote their professional lives to this goal deserve support. There are no silver bullets. All schools are different and need a tailored approach. But there's no reason to re-invent the wheel over and over: We should learn from each other.

Approach:

Through an integrated system of tools and training, ANet helps support great teaching that’s grounded in standards and informed by data. It helps schools build on strengths by providing:

  • Quarterly interim assessments to provide information about which students are struggling, with what, and why
  • Tools and instructional resources to make it easier for teachers to meet their students' needs
  • Coaches that learn about schools' strengths and needs, then work alongside teachers and leaders to implement four cycles of planning and instruction to meet student needs
  • Access to a network of over 700 diverse schools across the country that come together to collaborate and problem solve

ANet’s system support work focuses on clear strategy and effective implementation in three key practice areas:

  • Strategic use of quality assessments
  • High-quality, standards-aligned materials
  • Meaningful, connected professional learning

Impact

ANet has partnered with over 1,000 schools over the last 12 years. It now reaches over 200,000 students annually. ANet schools with the right basic conditions in place achieve six months of additional learning over two years.
